The 2010 GNRC Youth for Peace workshop took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 26 to 30 January. Following the great outcomes of last year’s workshop in Geneva, Arigatou International, together with the GNRC Africa Secretariat, organized this second-year international capacity buildingworkshop for youth and youth leaders actively involved in the GNRC work in their home countries. A European workshop for the development of GNRC Youth Groups was held from 26 to 29 November 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland to help strengthen the youth participation and involvement in the region. The four-day workshop trained the youth leaders on the development, facilitation and follow up of interfaith youth activities using the Learning to Live Together manual. A training workshop to introduce the Learning to Live Together manual was held in Bucharest, Romania from 8 to 11 November 2009. The workshop aimed to introduce the manual to teachers, social workers, theologians and child protection authority representatives. 26 participants hailing from different parts of Romania, Sweden and Switzerland became acquainted with the manual and willing to introduce it in different educational settings in their countries. It is our pleasure to announce that the Portuguese version of the Learning to Live Together manual will be launched at the occasion of the Day of Prayer and Action manifestation in Brazil on 17 November 2009. The Latin American and Caribean branch of the GNRC has worked closely with Pastoral da Criança, which has initiated and contributed to the translation of the Portuguese language version. Read more...
Arigatou International has a new executive in its office in Geneva to work in the coordination of the GNRC youth activities. Laura López Bech has joined the office in October 2009 to work in the development of GNRC youth groups, one of the priorities of Arigatou. Laura will be in charge of supporting the GNRC youth initiatives and empowering the children and young people of the network. Read more...

A one day workshop based on the Learning to Live Together manual was held during an international congress organised by Shanti Ashram and the Focolare movement in Coimbatore, India. Masaa - Massar, an interfaith learning and peace building program based on the Learning to Live Together manual was held in Israel from 25 to 31 July 2009 for Christian, Jewish and Muslim Israeli youth. The program aimed to provide the participants a chance to meet with one another and get more deeply in touch with their national and religious identity as well as get to know the other's national and religious identity.
