Young People, Soap Operas and Reality TV

The transformation of the traditional soap opera into certain more extreme soaps, and the emergence of the recent “global” reality TV formats have generated worries among adults about how they are reviewed by, and might influence, young viewers – because children from all over the world watch adult programming from an early age.
Serious research on young people and these fictional genres lay behind the primary aim of this 7th Yearbook from the International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media.

The International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media, Nordicom, Göteborg University, 2004, 255 pages, ISSN 1403-4700, ISBN 91-89471-28-8.
